In August 2020, the Letšeng Icon rough diamond was recovered in Lesotho. Its name pays tribute to the extraordinary gem-quality stones for which the Letšeng mine is internationally renowned.
Taché was then entrusted with the rare challenge of identifying the right new owner and unlocking a polished result that would truly honour the significance of the rough.
From this remarkable diamond, several important polished stones were created, among them an exceptional 101.94-carat square emerald-cut diamond.
In February 2022, the GIA Laboratory confirmed that the Letšeng Icon was the largest square emerald-cut, D-colour, flawless diamond it had ever graded.
